The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) extends substantial support in boosting farm productivity. Technology-sourcing trips and technology-matching sessions abroad are organized by AVA to enable local farmers to learn from other countries’ best practices, and partner with solution providers and technology developers. For instance, a recent technology-sourcing trip in Norway exposed Singaporean farmers to the advanced automated fish-feeding systems and net cleaners of the country.
Apart from these initiatives, AVA also conducts researches for the development of large-scale production technology for fish-fry species. AVA’s research and private sector partners are examining how closing production life cycles of some fish food species, improved nutrition, and genetic selection can augment farm productivity. These initiatives from AVA are geared towards expanding the aquaculture ecosystem and industry.
